Slow down, Sony! It's only been a week since the previous PS5 firmware update, and now we're back again with yet another. Yes, today marks the release of the latest system software update, which is available to download and install now.
Weighing in at just over 1GB, the new firmware does exactly what you'd expect. Below is the sole patch note โ sing along if you know the words:
- This system software update improves system performance.
It's another minor update, then. It wasn't long ago that we had a pretty big one, introducing 1440p support and Game Lists, among other things. What other features or improvements would you like to see on PS5? Tell us in the comments section below.

To stop the new Jailbreak lol.
@GoodGame thought the same-...
Itโs a drip-drip this gen of feature updates thatโs for sure
@GoodGame That one is only possible with a Firmware from last October
I'm technically an idiot but I have a question. Do all these giga byte updates take up space on the ssd ?
@Dobbos no worries. This mainly replaces the old data. There is not really additional data stored after the update.
Happy updating
My PS5 always enjoys a nice hit of improved system performance.
@Reeneman That's good news thanks for the reply. ๐๐
@GoodGame You 'might' be correct. One of the annoying things about people wanting to Jailbreak their consoles is everyone else gets more stability firmware updates.
@Bizzy The PS5 Jailbreak is coming along nicely
@GoodGame as are the stability updates
